Trauma and PTSD
Trauma: Pain we carry in silence
The experience of trauma can shift our perspectives and cause changes in our attitudes, beliefs, and values. It can change the way we live, how we show up in our relationships, and create a disconnect that leads to withdrawal and isolation.
Those whoβve been through trauma may βmaskβ what weβre feeling, act as if everything is OK, when in actuality, weβre feeling numb, angry, empty, or depressed.
Trauma can cause us to stop trusting others. We may put up walls and shut people out. We become closed off and itβs hard to connect.
It leaves us on edge, with our minds constantly running and worrying about things that most people donβt. There are few places, if any, where we can let our guards down and we often expect the worst to happen.
It can diminish our sense of joy, happiness, hope, and peaceβthose emotions we know we "should" be able to feel.
And trauma can make us feel incredibly lonely, confused, and frustrated. Itβs not who we want to be or how we want to live. We want to changeβ¦ we just donβt know how.
Iβm here to tell you it can get better. Weβll work together, at your pace, to get through your struggles. Whenever youβre ready, Iβll be here to support you.
Letβs start with a call and just go from there.
ADHD, Focus & Motivation
Does this sound familiar?
constantly struggling to focus and pay attention, even when you want to
a long, never-ending to do list or projects waiting to be done
living in a cluttered space and/or living with a cluttered mind
easily overwhelmed, overstimulated, dysregulated, and irritable
βsystemsβ or βhacksβ but donβt seem to stick
you forget the small things, the big things, and got used to saying sorry
perfectionism gets in the way of productivity
consistency and structure is hard to maintain without accountability
motivation comes and goes and you often resort to procrastinating
a part of you believes that you are not good enough
even when you try, you end up falling behind (or you just donβt start at all)
β¦ and you canβt figure out why things just seem harder for you despite being smart, capable, competent and resourceful
If this resonates with you, it might be ADHD.
